Phil,
In theory adding a new 64-bit linux target platform isn't too bad.
You could start by hacking the LINUXAMD64 target. Everywhere in the
source where there's an #ifdef or something that says LINUXAMD64, you
could add a LINUXIA64, and you could mostly clone the options in the
configure script. If you're not in a hurry, I can do the ground work
for this. I know one or two other people were talking about doing this
for themselves, but I never heard back if they started doing it. The
rest of the work is just getting libraries like FLTK, Tcl/Tk, Python, and
so on compiled and setup for building VMD. If you can wait until sometime
around May 20, I should have time to do this for you, otherwise feel free
to give it a shot yourself. I'd recommend building from the VMD CVS
tree, which I can help you with if you have questions.
