Olivier,
  You need to make sure that VMD is finding the library in /usr/lib64.
This means that you either need to make your 'ldconfig' set it up correctly,
or you need to change your library search path so it is found when running
VMD.

What happens if you do:
  setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH /usr/lib64:${LD_LIBRARY_PATH}

and then re-test?
