Hi Felix

Strange.... We are running VMD 1.8.1 on FC2 without any problems. We
have just downloaded
vmd-1.8.1.bin.LINUX.opengl.tar.gz
and installed it.

What do you mean by XFree86 is not supported by FC2? It is the X-server
installed by default with any (graphic) installation.

Best regards

Esben

Subject: vmd-l: VMD on Linux Fedora Core 2

        Dear all,

I would like to know if somebody out there has already tried
installing VMD on LINUX running Fedora Core 2. From the installation
notes, I understand XFree86 is a prerequisite yet Fedora does not seem
to support this package. Are there any other alternatives? Many thanks.

        Felix
