Hi,

Our group is using news screens with HiDPI enabled by default on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. VMD then appears in a tiny window, with unreadable menus and tiny UI. I have seen exchanges from 2021 on this problem, but we are using the latest alpha build (1.9.4a57), so maybe a solution is now available. Is there a configuration or environment variable we could use to scale the size of all UI?

I have found a script online, authored by Axel (https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://gist.github.com/alexholehouse/32f07b8ef1bddf942148926673649a4f__;!!DZ3fjg!-bPfzbov0JOc-OKrvbTcZpenF8B-ek6OHGng0ukb7P9phgS4B-rmUlOvQXU6gDL4aQphrRDikywAB6omKpg$ ) that purports to, if I understand, run a X server with a virtual framebuffer to do the scaling. It does not appear to work for us, and crashes by saying:

2022-11-07 15:21:19,608 server does not support xi input devices
2022-11-07 15:21:19,608 server uses: xtest
2022-11-07 15:21:22,238 server requested disconnect:

Can someone provide some help, please?
