If you have 'xterm' in your command search path, and yet the vmd
startup script still isn't finding it, you can modify the VMD startup
script to use the full pathname of the 'xterm' binary rather than just
running 'xterm'. To do this, go into the section of the file for Linux
that starts with "case *Linux*:"
and change this:
    set VMD_WINTERM=xterm
to this:
    set VMD_WINTERM=/some/unusual/path/to/bin/xterm
