hi everybody,

since there are quite a few people here subscribed to the list that
not only use VMD but add their own new features to it (or plan
or were tasked to do it), i would like to draw your attention to a
workshop in mid march 2013 that we are currently preparing here
at the ICTP in Trieste.

This workshop specifically aims to introduce scientists to modern
software development tools and best practices over a two week
intense training program with lectures and a lot of hands-on training.

There is _no registration fee_ and the ICTP guest house provide
low-cost accommodation (subject to capacity limitations).

Qualified applicants from _developing countries_ can apply for partial
or full financial support for travel, meals and accommodation.

In the days following the general training, there will be an opportunity
to attend application specific training sessions. At the moment, we
plan to have parallel tracks for Quantum Espresso and LAMMPS.

It will also be possible to attend *only* the application development
meetings. There is no registration fee for these events as well.

Participation is subject to qualification and available capacity
of lecture halls and computer rooms. For more details, please see:

ciao,
     axel.

p.s.: the LAMMPS satellite meeting didn't make it on the
poster, but will happen nevertheless.
