Dear VMD'ers,

I'm new to this mailing list, but I'm using VMD for quite a while now.
Via this mail I want to let you all know that VMD 1.8.1 and the GeForce
FX5800 card work perfect together in windows and linux. I upgraded from
an intel 845G on-board card, so I came a long way (that one gave wrong
opengl geometry; really crappy drivers).
I run Mandrake 9 on a P4 and use the NVidia driver from their website:
NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4363.run for the IA32 platform.
The installation is easier than ever and no high linux skills are
required. The card gives me 600 fps (fullscreen) in glxgears.

So for those who are planning to buy a graphics card for use in windows
or linux I can assure you that the GeForce FX is compatible with both
and VMD makes optimal use of its power.

cheers,

Joost Van Durme
