Hello, I'm attempting to install VMD on a remote machine so that I can use
"vmd -dispdev" in order to make make smd files on the fly and automatically
chain simulations. I have had success with this on a remote machine already,
but am having issues on a different machine.

After I 'configure' to a generic LINUX install and 'make install', I get the
following error message when I attempt to use vmd:

/home/htnd/vmd/vmd_LINUX: Exec format error. Binary file not executable.

I assume this means I need to specify the system more, so by typing 'uname
-a' I get the following key (or what I assume is key) information: ppc64
GNU/Linux. So at this point I assume I need to install to a power pc
architecture. So now when I configure to LINUXPPC I get the following error:

/home/htnd/vmd/vmd_LINUX: Command not found.

You'll have to forgive me if the answer is obvious, but has anyone got any
ideas on how I should proceed?

Many thanks,

Hugh
