I have installed VMD 1.8.6 on Linux 64-bit (Debian amd64 lenny) on a
Tyan S2895 motherbioard (two dual-opteron) as I have produced some
vmd_plot files (wI am dealing with for the first time).

Lauching vmd:

info Multithreading available

info Free memory 3794 MB (94%)

info OpenGL renderer: GeForce 6600/PCI/SSE2

info Features: STENCIL MSAA(4) MDE CVA MTX NPOT PP PS GLSL(OVF)

info Full GLSL rendereing mode is available

info Textures: 2-D (4096x4096), 3-D (512x512x512), Multitexture (4)

vmd>

running "source filename.vmd_plot" at the vmd promt, what is returned
is "6163". Nothing on the screen.
