Dear Cesar,
  Yes, this can definitely be done. I'll write up an example of
how to do this and post it on VMD-L soon. You'll need to use the
new version of Tachyon which I will be relasing this week, but other
than that its not too hard. The same thing could be done with any
renderer of course, but I'll write an example of how to do it with
Tachyon for you guys.
