Hi,
I just saw this and thought I'd pass it on.
Apparently Windows XP has problems letting graphics software run at
high refresh rates. This is particularly a problem for people that
want to use Windows XP with stereo glasses such as the Eye3D glasses,
since one would normally set the refresh rate up in the 120Hz range.

Apparently, XP limits the refresh rate to 60Hz, even after applying
patches, at least for OpenGL software such as VMD, CAD programs, Quake,
etc. DirectX software is also stuck at 75Hz unless you patch Windows XP
appropriately. There is further discussion of the problem here:
  http://xp-refresh.net/

Windows 2000 does not have this problem, from what I read.

This may explain a few emails I got from people having trouble using
stereo glasses with Windows XP.
