I am attempting to install the MESA binary version of VMD on rh7.3 and
am having trouble. After the install, I try to run vmd using the vmd
csh script. The vmd graphics window appears and immediately vanishes.
If I run the vmd_LINUX binary directly I get a tcl error:

ERROR) Tcl startup error: Can't find a usable init.tcl in the following
director ies:
ERROR) /Projects/johns/tcl/lib_LINUX/lib/tcl8.3
ERROR) This probably means that Tcl wasn't installed properly.
ERROR) Tk startup error: invalid command name "tcl_findLibrary"

Which suggests that vmd is looking for tcl in an unusual place.
