Dear VMD-L,
Several individuals had reported problems running various
versions of VMD on Redhat Linux 7.0 in the last week or two, and
I believe we have fixed the problems that they were running into.
Anyone using VMD on Redhat 7.0 will need to download new binaries
of Surf and Stride, which get copied into the installed VMD directory
(usually /usr/local/lib/vmd).

I've placed the new Stride and Surf binaries up for FTP here:
  ftp://ftp.ks.uiuc.edu/pub/mdscope/vmd/rh7

Copy these new files over the existing stride_LINUX and surf_LINUX
binaries on your system, and the most frequent problems with Redhat
7.0 should immediately go away.

If anyone still has trouble using VMD with Redhat 7.0, after applying
these new binaries to your installation, please send us email at
vmd_at_ks.uiuc.edu and let us know..

Thanks!
  John Stone
