Hi,
  Michel Sanner has just put up the new MSMS 2.5.3 binaries which
are needed for use with VMD (2.5.0 had a problem that is fixed in this
new version). They have placed the new versions of MSMS in their
download system here:
  http://www.scripps.edu/pub/olson-web/share/packager/packager.html

I've tested the MSMS 2.5.3 binaries, and they should work fine with
any version of VMD. (I actually tested with VMD 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, and 1.6).
