Hi,
Unfortunately there's currently no way to change this in VMD; the file
extensions (i.e. .pdb, .dcd) are hardcoded into VMD.
If you're familiar with Tcl/Tk, it should be possible to create your own
file browser that looks for the type of files you're interested in.
