Abstract

The talk will review recent efforts to use computer simulation methodologies to study self-assembling biomolecular systems. It will highlight the topical theme of "bridging length and time-scales" using so-called coarse grain models. Examples, will include the spontaneous formation of various (lamellar, cylindrical) phases exhibited by membrane forming systems and the their interaction with "guest" species such as various nanotubes and anti-microbial polymers

Tea and coffee will be served in R3151 Beckman Institute at 2:15pm.
