Abstract

Multiscale modeling along with advances in computer hardware and software development provide us today with unprecedented simulation capabilities. We focus on the development of a unifying framework that enables the exchange of computational techniques between multiscale simulations of physical systems such as anguiliform swimmers, nanofluidics and vascular tumor growth. In this context, I will discuss recent efforts of our group in the development of: 1. adaptive multiresolution simulations of continuous systems using wavelet-particle methods, 2. accelerated spatial stochastic simulations, 3. coupling of atomistic and continuum systems and the implementation of these methods in massively parallel computers.
