The UIUC Ballroom Dance Club is the umbrella organization for Miss V's
dances and practices. As far as I know, those are the only activities
they run. I believe the D.I. was resurrected seven years ago at least
partly to provide an alternative to Miss V's activities.
It's quite possible to enjoy Miss V's activities, if you go in the
proper frame of mind. You have to be willing to dance four polkas in
a row, or whatever, if that's what Miss V decides to play (and she has).
I strongly caution people to dress according to whatever rules she lays
down, though, since she won't hesitate to kick you out if you don't.
If you don't know who Miss V is, I encourage you to go and find out.
I got my start in her kinesiology classes seven years ago -- though I
can't pretend to recommend them.
Also, she's not terribly fond of the Dancing Illini and brooks no
criticism.
