    Hi all,

There are many new opportunities to dance WCS in our region. Here is an
    overview of the details...

    CHICAGO AREA

    - the Chicago Rebels will be resuming a schedule of 2 WCS dances per
month. The new location is the former Tango Nada Mas, and the studio
is reported to be lovely with an excellent floor. The Rebels will be
holding dances twice a month on Saturday nights from 8 to midnight.
They'll be sharing studio time with Nino DiGiulio (ballroom/ nightclub
mix) and a tango group. Their new web site is:
      http://www.chicagorebels.net/

    - X Dance, some of the younger Rebels dancers are holding monthly dances
in Chicago as well. The mix of music is somewhat different than the
Rebels dances, less blues and more upbeat (hustle) music. X Dances
feature a lesson before each dance, they seem to draw a more beginner
-rich crowd. (because of the new lessons) February 14th will be their
anniversary dance, with a lesson by a dance pro to be named soon.
The new X Dance web site is: http://xdance.com/

    - the Buzz, some people go dancing downtown at 'the Buzz' on Sunday nights
7-9:30 (followed by salsa). Lessons are held before the dancing, and
      Glen Miller provides DJ services.

    INDIANAPOLIS

    - Indy Swing, this club holds dances on Sunday afternoons twice a month.
Lessons are held before the dancing. The ballroom is very nice. Their
Anniversary dance is coming up February 2, with workshops on 2 days,
nightclub dancing at The Cozy on saturday, and the anniv. dance on
      Sunday. http://www.indyswing.org/

    - Indy Rebels Don and Jean K. (the best WCS djs in the midwest) have started
a second club in Indianapolis. Dances are held alternate sundays from
the Indy Swing group, and also on some Saturday nights. Lessons preceed
      the dances. http://www.donandjean.com/

    - Indy Summer Swing Invitational, dancers in Indy are coming together to
offer a big dance weekend June 27-29, 2003. Many 'names' are invited,
the event will be held at the Quality Inn, 3500 N. Shadeland Ave in
Indy and will feature Jack and Jill competitions, workshops, and a
      DJ spin off competition.

    WISCONSIN

    - the Madison West Coast Swing Dance Club are bringing in Wayne and
Sharlot Bott on March 1 and 2 for workshops, and a Mardi Gras themed
dance. Wayne and Sharlot are multiple time National Swing Dance
      Champions

    - the North East Wisconsin Rebels are holding their annual Swing Dance
Challenge, featuring Jeannie Tucker, Kate Barardino, Jordan Frisbee,
and Tatiana Mollmann March 28-30 in Oshkosh. Lots of workshops,
      competitions and dancing.

    ST. LOUIS

    - hmmm, I know there is a group that holds monthly dances somewhere.

    - Gateway Dance Festival (WCS, Country and Hustle) run by Beth Emerson
has moved from November to April 4-6 in St. Louis. Many workshops,
competitions and late night dancing. Angel and Debbie Figueroa,
      among other pros.
