Hi all,

Just curious if anyone has seen this error before. I reran the previous
timesteps to generate a new restart file but had the same error.

00: Info: PATCH GRID IS 5 (PERIODIC) BY 6 (PERIODIC) BY 6 (PERIODIC)
000: Warning: Number of atoms in binary file totalnve12.25.restart.vel is
palindromic, assuming same endian.
000: FATAL ERROR: Incorrect atom count in binary file
totalnve12.25.restart.vel
(END)
namd then dies

I looked at the source code for this routine and am curious to know why it
is checked for in the first place? Does it mess up the endian checking?

Brian
