There is some logic to trying to make sure all of the "beginner dances"
are always present, as all of the advanced dancers know them as well. We
haven't seen posts about the fact that there wasn't a samba at a certain
practice! With tapes, however, it's a bit difficult, as you put it in,
and play things in the order they were recorded. This doesn't always
mean from the beginning of a side, (if it did, then there would be
songs [and dances] that we'd never get to.)

This may change, as the club just bought a minidisk player, and so we
could probably use our disks in Dave Lin's player, thus allowing us to
jump tracks, etc.

(Yes, there are two tapes there, I believe at least one of them was
from the summer - it *might* even go with the case it's in. :-)

I'm in charge of the practices, and making sure they go smoothly.

Unfortunately, I don't have the best ear for the type of music - as is
proved by a partner and I dancing Rhumba to a Merengue last week at the
Regent! (It was kinda hard, but I'd misread the dance sheet, and thought
. . .) I will try to get the type of dance the music is intended for
announced, or written up, or recorded on the tape. I have been not been
doing this up until now mostly to keep from making a fool out of myself.

Sincerely,
