Hi all, Here are a few other topics that were discussed at our special
Thursday meeting. An outline of all topics that were presented will be
available on the DI Web Page. Other than the details presented below or
in my previous post, all other answers were 'no' or 'not now'.

:)

Q: Should the club schedule regular/ more afterhours?
A: No, it's much better to let them happen on an impromtu basis,
ensuring member interest. Rather than attempt to force people to party.

Q: Should the club hire a 'tutor' once a week, every two weeks, etc to work
with our intermediate to advanced dancers?
A: Possibly book Sandy in Monticello or bring Anyes down from Chicago,
etc.. Shelve this idea until we get our
room assignments. We could also simply try to snag professional
instructors when they travel through the midwest.

Q: Should we produce videos?
A: This is Scott's idea, if he wishes to take charge of this project, he
has the green light.

Q: Should we get business cards?
A: Yes, Tanja will do this before Quad day.

Q: Should we get buttons?
A: Yes, Sheena will take charge of this project.

Q: Pay for a professional show at our comp?
A: No, instead request that local dancers like Bruce and Hillary, Tom
and Diara or Andrew and Lara present demos.

Q: Should we buy a VHS Camcorder?
A: If so, we should store it at the Regent. Persons taking private
lessons at the Regent will be allowed to utilize the camera. Otherwise,
the camera will only be taken off the Regent premises by DI officers to
video-tape classes and workshops, etc.

Q: Does the club have time to arrange a weekly partnership with a local
nightclub and offer dance lessons.
A: No. However, a more casual one-time deal of dancing and lessons with
the Fanmarker would be acceptable. Let's try and help them get a hot
swing band and dance.

In addition, we will:
Continue to present dance quickies at practices, the majority of these
will present new steps/ cool tricks, etc.

Possibly present special 15-minute jam sessions after DI classes, if
beginners show an interest in dance shoes, clothes, jewelry, shoe bags, etc.

Promote the mid-semester dance as a Graduation Dance to the beginners and
a special FUN dance to all other members, so everyone knows they are welcome.
