Every year in the fall the Tango Society of Central Illinois hosts a tango
festival at the Phillips Recreation Center, 505 W Stoughton, Urbana. Part of
the purpose of this festival is to introduce the community to tango,
specifically the tango that is danced in Argentina, the birthplace of tango.
This year we are having 8 nationally recognized instructors teaching 18
tango workshops. We are offering 4 of these workshops as a program in a
Fundamentals Pass on Friday evening Nov 9 and all day Saturday Nov 10 (2
afternoon workshops 12:30-4 PM + 1 evening workshop @ 8 PM) + 2 tango dances
(Friday and Saturday evening), for the cost of $60 ($30 for students). For
those with limited time, we welcome you to partake in our Introduction to
Tango workshop on Friday @ 8 PM ($15, $10 students, inlcudes dance after
workshop). For complete festival information, consult our webpage:

Our Tango Festival attracts over 100 dancers from around the Midwest. The
instructional team is top rate, including instructors who teach at national
tango festivals. Our entire tango community gets involved and there is a lot
fun.
We welcome you to take part in our Tango Festival. You may find something
that will really enrich your dance experience.
