This summer the Dancing Illini will be hosting another day-long event
for students from neighboring colleges and universities to meet, dance and
become better dancers! We have arranged for Enio Cordoba and Terryl Jones,
known throughout the dance world for their fun, high-energy workshops, to
teach a solid day of East and West Coast Swing, Salsa (Mambo), and the
technique of Spins, Turns and Latin Body Action! Anyone who has taken a
beginner class in Swing or Salsa will greatly benefit from these
technique-packed workshops on Saturday, June 29th.
If you are leaving town and will have no email access this summer,
please mark this June 29 workshop on your calendar, and call us in a few
weeks for more info. If any of your dancing friends have already left
town, please give them a call and let them know about this!
Tentatively, the schedule of events for Saturday, June 29th is as follows:
9:00 - 10:30am Fun 'n Flashy East Coast Swing, figures and technique.
10:45 -12:30pm Swing club style West Coast Swing, figures and technique.
12:30 - 2:00pm Lunch Break. Dancing Illini members will lead groups
to nearby restaurants for lunch.
(participants are responsible for their own food costs)
2:00 - 3:45pm Hot Salsa! figures and technique.
3:45 - 5:30pm Spins, Turns and Latin Body Actions Expained!
Tentatively, the cost will be $5 per workshop, with all four for only $15.
More details (location, etc) will be announced as they become available.
If that isn't enough, we're having 2 "Warm-up" dances on Friday, June 28th:
A "Get-Ready!" ballroom dance at the Regent Ballroom
8:00 - 11:00pm. Cover charge.
A "Get-Set!" Salsa dance at the Regent Ballroom
11:30pm - 2:00am. Cover charge.
Don't miss out! Come and dance with us on Friday night, and then learn
some great dancing and technique tips from champion instructors on
Saturday.
Please pre-register by June 14 - We can only accomodate 200 participants,
so please reply soon.

About Our Instructors
Enio Cordoba is the Owner/Director of "Let's Dance L.A."
He is a 2-time Feather Award Winner for Hottest Mambo Dancer, and a
Feather Award Winner for Top Teacher. He has been a US Open Swing
Championships Judge, and is a coach and choreographer of Swing dance
and figure skating champions, as well as stage, T.V. and video
productions. Enio is a USBC Pro-Am Champion, World Salsa Championships
Semifinalist, USBC Rising Star Champion and a US Amateur Latin Champion.
Terryl Jones is an instructor and choreographer at "Let's Dance L.A."
and a Fred Astaire National Rising Star Ballroom Champion.
