Dear Dancers and Future Dancers,
The Dancing Illini is kicking off the new year with two beginner courses:
Swing/Waltz and Salsa. For those with some dance experience, we have
Samba/Jive, West Coast Swing, Salsa-Rueda, and Hustle 3 (hustle reqd).
You don't need a partner and all classes are FREE the first week, so
come to the McKinley Foundation Jan 23 and 26 and give it a try!
P.S. This schedule came together really well; all of the instructors
are teaching dances that they love...don't miss these courses!
The Details:
Where: Basement of McKinley Foundation (5th & John, SW corner)
When: Mondays and Thursdays
How long: 5 weeks
Beginning: Mon Jan 23 and Thu Jan 26
Ending: Mon Feb 20 and Thu Feb 23
Courses:
West Coast Swing 1 (a smooth, cool dance)
Mondays 6:30-7:30pm, free practice after class
taught by Jim Phillips & Linda Oldham, dance experience required
Samba & Jive 1 (serious Latin ballroom)
Mondays 8:00-9:15pm
taught by Mike Lockwood & Victoria Gintautiene, dance experience required
Hustle 3 (an advanced class!)
Mondays 9:30-10:45pm
taught by Paul Jones & Ji Miao, hustle experience required
Swing & Waltz 1 (great for beginners)
Thursdays 7:00-8:15pm, free practice after class
taught by Ron Carbonari & Victoria Gintautiene, *no experience required*
Salsa 1 (great for beginners)
Thursdays 9:00-10:00pm, free practice after class
taught by Fede Bassetti & Ji Miao, *no experience required*
Salsa 2 - Rueda (very fun Salsa in a circle)
Thursdays 10:30-11:30pm
taught by Fede Bassetti & Ji Miao, Salsa experience required
Pricing:
There is no need to pre-register. You may try a class for FREE during
the first week. Your $30 membership (or $35 registration if non-UIUC)
entitles you to one course. Additional courses in the same semester
are $20. Prices are per person; there is no couples discount. Please
be prepared to pay by the start of the second class.
EARLY-BIRD SPECIAL: Save $5 on membership if you pay the first week!
