During the Winter Session (Jan - Mar) Tango Society classes and workshops
will have a focus on milonga, the lively rhythmic dance that is the
historical
predecessor of tango and an integral and popular part of the trio of dances
(tango, milonga, vals) danced socially.
Our approach is to emphasize musicality (connecting and playing with the
rhythm), navigation, and improvisation (as well as the accompanying leading
and
following skills). In our classes and workshops you will not only learn the
basic elements in constructing a milonga dance, but also how to recombine
them in
numerous ways, particularly with regard to navigating around the dance floor.
