Sat Oct 4: Milonga at Phillips Center + Vals Workshop

    This Saturday Oct 4 the Tango Society of Central Illinois is hosting a
    milonga at the Phillips Recreation Center (505 W Stoughton, Urbana) from 9 - 12 PM.
    The cost is $5.

    Prior to the milonga, starting at 7:30 PM, Susana and I are teaching a
    workshop entitled "Foundations of Vals". This workshop will focus on adapting basic
    tango steps to the 1-2-3 rhythm of the vals, and specifically how to cut the
    rhythm (using syncopations) to dance a typical vals rhythm. The cost is $7, and
    includes admission to the milonga.

    This workshop is the first in a series of 3 pre-milonga workshops on vals.
    The next one is on Sat Oct 25, and is entitled "Ochos & Changes of Direction".
    The 3rd workshop is on Sat Dec 6 and is entitled "Stationary and Progressive
    Turns". Pre-registration for all 3 workshops is $18 and includes admission to
    the subsequent milongas.

    Come and join us at our milonga and workshops. Enjoy a wide variety of tango
    music representing all periods and genres of tango dance music.
