By the way, I went to Anne Kogan's one-time class two weeks ago on three
popular line dances in swing: the Jitterbug Stroll, the Shim Sham Shimmy,
and the Madison. I like the Madison especially because it has moves such
as the Rifleman, the Jackie Gleason, the Cleveland box step, the Wilt
Chamberlain jump shot, and Birdland jumps.

About 20 people attended the class at the basement of FAR on October 20
all afternoon, while at the same time, the Indiana Hoosiers
played against the Illini football team. No one missed the game
    because
that game was blacked out on television due to NCAA broadcast rules. When
I heard on the radio that the Illini won, I thought to myself, "I'm
smellin' Rose Bowl here for the team!"

The Swing Society of Champaign-Urbana demonstrated two of those line
dances (the Stroll and the Madison) at the Taste of the Arts Festival on
October 21, and I was part of the demo that took place at the Krannert
    Center lobby.

Probably you want to get information on these line dances right away, so
    I suggest these URLs:

    The Jitterbug Stroll

The Shim Sham (a.k.a. The Shim Sham Shimmy)
    http://www.jitterbuzz.com/less7.html

Sadly, it is hard to find a URL for the Madison. If you need help, you
perhaps better call up Anne Kogan (akogan@uiuc.edu). She knows a great
deal because she is a good lindy-hopper herself.
