Postdoc in Theoretical and Computational Biophysics

Applicants are invited to fill a postdoctoral position in theoretical biophysics and nanotechnology at the Department of Physics, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (USA). The successful candidate will work with Professor Aksimentiev on a project in one of the following areas: (i) nanopore sequencing of DNA and proteins, (ii) self-assembled DNA nanostructures, (iii) molecular mechanics of DNA replication and repair. Required qualifications: Ph.D. in physics, chemistry or related discipline, prior experience in a computer-intense research project, excellent oral and written communication skills. Candidates with expertise in either (i) particle-based simulations of biomacromolecules, such as all-atom or coarse-grained molecular dynamics simulations, (ii) continuum optics simulations and plasmonics or (iii) GPU-computing are especially encouraged to apply. The preferred starting date for this position is August 16, 2015. The review of candidates will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. The salary will commensurate with experience.
