Dear Balaji;

You should probably want to look at the VMD Membrane Proteins
Tutorial at (http://www.ks.uiuc.edu/Training/Tutorials/). In that
tutorial, you will learn how to build a lipid bilayer, from that you
can extract a monolayer.
