Hi All,
I will setup NAMD on a AMD Opteron Cluster (Each node two 146 processors, 16
nodes, SuSE Linux Enterprise System Version 8) , so I tried to compile NAMD
on it but I failed.
Thirst I tried it with the command:
./build charm++ mpi-linux-ia64 opteron -ODCMK_OPTIMIZE=1
but I got the message:
Error> option: opteron is not supported in this version!
Supported compilers: ecc gcc3 cxx gcc gcc3 icc kcc pgcc
Supported options: gm vmi bluegene lcs ooc
then I tried:
./build charm++ mpi-linux-ia64 -ODCMK_OPTIMIZE=1
This worked till the following message occurred:
Fatal Error by charmc in directory
/home/cn08/bb/bbblu01/bin/NAMD_2.5_Source/charm/mpi-linux-ia64/tmp
Command g++ -DCMK_SEQUENTIAL=1 -D__CHARMC__=1 -I../bin/../include -c xi-main.C
-o xi-main.o returned error code 1
charmc exiting...
make: *** [xi-main.o] Error 1

Charm++ NOT BUILT. Either cd into mpi-linux-ia64/tmp and try
to resolve the problems yourself, visit
http://charm.cs.uiuc.edu/
for more information. Otherwise, email the developers at ppl_at_cs.uiuc.edu
After this I tried several other compilers like gcc pgcc and so on. But always
the same error messages occurred. I found some threads in the NAMD mailing
list that deal with it, but it still won't work. So has anyone an idea what's
wrong?
Thanks in advance, Marek!
