we need to get a cluster to be used primarily for NAMD, and we need to
get it ASAP. we have money for 32 CPUs. i assume the best
bang-for-the-buck would be:
16 dual CPU 1U servers
gigabit ethernet interconnects
2GB RAM per server
if that's way off the mark, please let me know. also, what
architecture should i go with if i'm only running NAMD? i'm tempted to
go with an Opteron x86_64 solution, but what about Intel's Nocona?
would a G5 cluster be worth looking at?
