Hi,
Yes, you can build charm++/namd2 on Opteron:
compile charm++ with opteron build options:
./build charm++ net-linux opteron -O -DCMK_OPTIMIZE
and build namd2 with:
config ... Linux-amd64-g++
We don't have Opteron machine in our lab, but I heard from other people
using it. My impression is that compiling with 64 bits did not improve the
performance, it may be even a little bit slower.
