Hope everyone is staying warm and safe during this crappy October weather.

*Practice - Thursday (6:00-7:30)*
For those of you who missed class last Sunday, practice is a great place to
get caught up. Practice resumes this Thursday at the LDS Institute (402 S.
Lincoln Ave., Urbana). We will review the new Rumba and Nightclub Two Step
steps from last Sunday as needed. We will also play some random songs so
you get a chance to review all six dances you've learned so far. Salsa and
Cha Cha will be up next on Sunday, this will give you a chance to try to
remember what those were.
*Halloween Dance at the Regent - Friday (8:00-11:00)*
The Regent Ballroom is a ballroom located in Savoy. On Friday nights they
hold a social dance playing a variety of music for people to socialize and
dance. It's a great chance to dance with each other or with more
experienced dancers around. Dancing Illini always reserves the table by the
DJ so we're easy to find.
This Friday is the Halloween Dance at the Regent. Dress up in your costume
and come dance! This time jeans can be appropriate if it's part of your
costume. Treats will be provided. If your birthday is +/- 5 days from
10/25, let us know and we'll get you a cake. You will also get a choice of
champagne or sparkling grape juice from the Regent. You know six dances by
now, which is plenty to get through the night. We can also show you some
new dances or new steps on the side. Cover is $9 at the door. Email
dancing@illinois.edu if you need a ride.

*Class - Sunday*
Come early to class, I'll play some Nightclub Two Step for warm up or
anything else that is requested.
*SAVE THE DATE - 11/15*
At the end of our dance course, we always have "Graduation Party" for our
students. We'll take you out to dinner, which has traditionally been
Rosati's, and then off to the Regent, so you'll get a chance to see how far
you've gotten. Dinner will be on us to congratulate your completion of the
course and if you have at least 8 stamps on your attendance cards, we'll
give you a $5 discount for the Regent for that night.
(Note: because of the timing of Fall Break and Finals, the last class is
actually 11/17, we decided to hold the Graduation Party *before* the last
class, which is why the last class is not listed on your attendance cards)
*Next Semester*
Some of you have been asking about next semester, this is what we have
planned so far:
5:00-6:15 Intermediate Social Ballroom (Jim & Jennifer)
6:30-7:30 Bonus Dance (Ron & Janice)
7:45-9:15 Beginner Social Ballroom (Jeff & En-Chi)
Social Ballroom = Nightclub Two Step, Salsa, Cha Cha, Waltz, Swing
Bonus Dance = Hustle, West Coast Swing
(Times are subject to change, but they're in the right ballpark)
For those of you who are in the Beginner Social Dancing class now, if you
take the Intermediate class, all the other class will be free to you. For
those of you who are in the Swing Trio class and would like the start the
Social Dance course, the Bonus Dance will also be free for you.
By the way, you guys are looking great for beginners, just keep dance! Feel
