DanceSport -- Monday Evening Coaching Sessions

Where: Opera Rehearsal Room -- Krannert

When: 8pm-9pm
If you want to warm up, come early.
There are plenty of large halls for warm-up!

Who: If you've taken advantage of Kathryn Schaffer's coaching,
or If you plan to go to her classes/coaching in the future,
or If you are working with some other coach,
or If you've been bitten by the dance bug and decided that
you are willing to work at your dancing to make it better,

Then you should take advantage of these Monday Evening
coaching sessions. The only way to improve your dancing
is to practice -- and you have to practice the right things.
So come work with us -- and really impress Kathryn the next
time she is in town.

Hilary Frooman and Bruce Leasure will provide the coaching.
After Kathryn works with the DI DanceSport group, she meets
with Hilary and Bruce to discuss the patterns, major elements
of technique that were covered, and the elements that should
be the focus of the Monday Evening coaching sessions.

A Typical Coaching Session

7:45pm-8pm Self directed warm-up.
The previous class is over, so come use the room.

8pm-8:30pm Some form of group instruction.
It might be work on patterns or technique.
One or two dances will usually be covered.

8:30pm-9pm Individual Coaching
Everyone will practice something (with a partner
or on their own). Hilary and Bruce will circulate,
providing individualized coaching.

and if that is not enough practice time,

9:30pm-11pm Dancing Illini Practice at the Regent
A better floor, some mirrors, but most of all
just more time to work on getting your body
used to doing what it has to do to work like
a dancer's body.

Tonight -- 29 June 1998

Since I have not talked with Kathryn yet, I don't know exactly what
I will cover tonight. But, I do know that I will work on some
of the things that Kathryn covered this weekend.

Hilary will (probably) not be there tonight. She is in Peoria
prosecuting some dastardly evil white-collar flimflam artist.
(If you want to hear some strange stories of what people thought
they could get away with, just ask her sometime over coffee!)

So -- plan your Monday nights so you can come!

See you there!
