Dear friends,

Last night I was called by my friend Mary and she told me this very
very sad news:

Ernest Seri passed away on Saturday night.

Ernest was celebrating his engagement with Angelica on Thursday night
at Gipsy's. When he came into the bar he was told "I don't like the
look of your face". Later on he was taken to an alley behind and he was
beaten up by four bouncers helplessly.

Angelica was screaming as loud as she could, but there was no help.
Apparently his heart stopped in the way to the hospital. Two days
after, in their Intensive Care Unit, Ernest died.

Ernest was an African American student at the University of Illinois.
He had just obtained his Ph.D. in French Literature and had already been
given a position at the University of Arizona.

Please join us tonight in a peaceful protest in front of Gipsy's from
8pm to 10pm. Please let all your friends know about this. Let's just
hope for justice and let's just hope this will NEVER happen again in
Urbana-Champaign,

Sadly,

- Carlos.
