The Jack and Jill still serves the exact same purpose-- it's fun, it's most
definitely not competitive, & it's within the time we have allotted on
Friday
(this year, it looks as if we will have the Regent for up to an additional
hour after the normal dance. And from what I saw last year, most ppl from
other schools who come to the pre-comp came early anyways.)

Since the goal of the Jack and Jill is to meet and dance with other
people, doesn't it make sense to meet them early, so that you can ask them
to dance with you on Saturday, or to go out to lunch with them? Rather
than meeting them at the end of a long day, and saying "oh it's so nice to
meet you-- it's a shame i'm taking off now but that 5 min we spent was so
wonderful!"

Just my $.02... in pesos.
