Yeah - as far as my personal gossip-mongering has been able to tell, no
one knows who sent this message, although there are of course many
theories. Being a graduate student in CS, I would say with some
credibility that the electronic trail that has been uncovered so far
doesn't really support any evidence against anybody (but I still wouldn't
trust us physicists). Hence, it would probably be undignified to cast
any allegations in anybody's direction without MUCH better evidence.

This leads me to two points:

- As Sri pointed out, Mark's significant service and contributions
have in fact gone unthanked on too many occasions.

- We should all forget about the "Hairy-White-Ass" email, let the
guilty party go unpunished, and get together to drink beer and
sing "We Are the World", or "Don't Worry, Be Happy".
