I would be the first to agree that we need to have reasonable assurance
that our officers will follow the club rules, and there might have been a
technical violation of club rules. However, it seems to me that Mark
displayed reasonable judgement in this situation (which was probably not
anticipated when the constitution and bylaws were drafted). Hence, this
is a poor choice of an issue with which to enter heated debate.

Let's get to the real problem here, which is that we all need to endeavor
to separate personal issues from professional issues. I'm not saying we
don't need to deal with personality clashes, but I am saying that a
public newsgroup is an injudicious choice for the adjudication of said
clashes. I highly recommend that we take this discussion offline.

P.S. I'd really rather not become Sergeant-At-Arms (although Douglas C.
Niedermeyer IS a personal hero of mine), because that would cause a
conflict of interest with my role as DI Rush Chairman.
