Olive Garden.

Mark will get a mailbox for the DI in RSO office when they become available
in Aug/Sept.

Mark will hand in SORF requests in Sept.

Mark ordered new Salsa and Hustle Videos, coming in soon.
ordered 2 copies of a book on teaching for our instructors.

Stu offered to type in some documents for the DI web page.

Scott moving Dancing Illini accounts to First of America after we get a
mailbox (we will put that address on the checks).
- More convenient for Treasurer.
- Debit card available for account so we can use it
to charge hotel rooms for workshop instructors, and
any other expenses which requires a credit card.

Tanja will assume responsibility for the Aug 23 trip to the Regent 8-11pm
dance. She will tell David how many tickets to give us, and distribute
them at practices.

Tandy (ex-president) lost the DI notebook. It is currently being
reassembled on the WWW so that it cannot be lost again. Need step lists
from all instructors.

Get Enio here to teach La Rueda if he is in the neighborhood.

DI will pay for gas for USABDA Competition in Indianapolis.

Find teacher for teacher training session on body language, voice tone,
manner, etc - Ask Shirley Faughn, management consultant.

David to teach Argentine Tango (two 2-hour sessions)

Formation team announcement read. Written guidelines for the Formation
Team are requested.

DI-Azucarrr interaction: Courtney will teach a quickie lesson for us.
Also, Eduardo likes the idea of doing some salsa lessons from our videos,
on the big screen tv at La Casa.

DI-Illini Union Board Interaction: DI will co-sponsor 4 dances in the
Courtyard on friday nights. First one on Sept 21 - C/W dance. Next 3 are
TBA. DI has written a proposal, will submit it soon.

DI-Courtyard Interaction: DI has written a proposal to have Fri/Sat night
dances in the Courtyard, will submit it soon.

Sheena has scanned in the dancer artwork. We will plaster it on all of our
flyers from now on.

Sheena - concerned about setting priorities for fall semester. Lots of
ideas to choose from.

Derek - new dances announced. wants people to sign up to be "greeters."
We need a new place to hold Graduation Dances. Should we just schedule
them for a Regent 8-11pm dance? Went to Radio Maria's and asked if they
would rent it out for a dance - not hopeful.

We decide to have a few hundred buttons made up that say "Ask me to dance!"
We need someone to get the DI business cards made up by Sept 1.

Dance theme - Have a "Taxi" dance.

Scott hands out preliminary Fall budget. It will be voted on at the
September meeting.

Scott says:

Let's make videos of each of our classes (ahead of time, not during
class), in which the teacher of that class (Amy, Tanja, Andrew & Lara,
Paul Klock, etc) and a demo doll demonstrate the full class syllabus.
These videos will be produced primarily for rental to students in those
classes, not for future teachers, so they will be designed actually to
teach the steps.

These videos would be more user-friendly to our newer club members, and
on the tapes, we could plug other videos which are related to them.

I have two proposals for the format:

1) Do one tape for each dance in the class to cover the whole
semester's syllabus.

2) Do several tapes, covering beginning, middle, and end of the class,
each tape covering all dances in that class.

Is there a preference, or alternate ideas?

If possible, I would like to have some tapes set up before classes
begin in the fall.

We need a cashbox, lock and chain for the petty cash fund.
We need another flyer case to keep at the Regent, so that David can hand
out our flyers to students in his International classes (David will assign
us a place to keep it).

Vote taken - $100 approved to buy cash box, chain, locks, flyer case.

Mark called the music store where we bought our wireless mic.
They can sell us a second, complete wireless headset mic unit
(dual-antenna-receiver) tuned to a different channel so that it can be used
simultaneously with our existing unit. $400.

Vote taken - $450 approved to buy second wireless mic unit.

Constitution changes approved.
