*Beginner Salsa Class
*Fridays, 6:00 - 7:15 PM
October 16- November 20 (skip October 30)
This class is for those of you who are new to the dance, or for those who
want a refresher course. This class will focus on the principles of leading
and following, basic steps and turns, and cross-body leads. We will also
teach Merengue & Bachata!
Place: University YMCA; 1001 S. Wright St, Champaign; corner of Wright and
Chalmers; Latzer Hall, 1st floor, next to Y Eatery
*Intermediate Salsa Class
*Thursdays, 7:30 - 8:45 PM
October 22- November 19
This class is for people who have taken any beginners class before and want
to develop their dancing. We will build on the basic steps and turns, adding
new steps, moves, and combinations.
Place: Channing-Murray Foundation; 1209 W. Oregon, Urbana
*Advanced Salsa Class
*Fridays, 7:30 - 8:45 PM
October 16- November 20 (skip October 30)
Advanced moves, turns, combinations, and footwork
PLEASE NOTE that instead of introducing footwork shines at the beginning of
class we will be teaching Rueda for approximately the last 20 minutes of
class
Prerequisite: being very comfortable at the intermediate level
Place: University YMCA; 1001 S. Wright St, Champaign; corner of Wright and
Chalmers; Latzer Hall, 1st floor, next to Y Eatery
*Merengue & Bachata Class - All Levels
*Thursdays, 6:10 - 7:25 PM
October 22- November 19
This class will start with teaching the basics of Merengue and Bachata and
quickly move into more advanced moves, and will also incorporate some body
isolation techniques. No prior dance experience is required.
Place: Channing-Murray Foundation; 1209 W. Oregon, Urbana
Each session (5 classes in total) is $30.
No partner is required.

In a friendly, relaxed, on-campus environment, enjoy hanging out with
friends, working on your new moves, and dancing a lot of salsa, some
cha-cha, merengue, and bachata to great music.
Everybody (including beginner, intermediate and advanced dancers alike) is
welcome.
