The Tango Society of Central Illinois is pleased to host as a guest
instructor Alex Krebs from the Tango Berretin Studio in Portland, OR
from Friday - Sunday March 10-12. There will be workshops all weekend
and milongas (tango social dances) Friday and Saturday night. All
activities will be at the Phillips Recreation Center, 505 W Stoughton,
Urbana.
There will be an introductory tango lesson on Friday March 10 from
8-9:30 PM, followed by a milonga until 1 AM. The cost of the lesson is
$15 ($10 for students) and includes the dance after the lesson.
Alex is a highly regarded, internationally known tango instructor who
is invited to teach at numerous tango festivals in the US and Europe.
He classes are known to be a lot of fun in additional to being
educational. As a musician and band leader for the tango band Conjunto
Berretin, his speciality is tango musicality, which will be the theme
of most of the workshops during the weekend. A complete schedule is
