University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign*

The Theoretical and Computational Biophysics Group (TCBG,
www.ks.uiuc.edu) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position in
scientific computing, specifically in visual molecular dynamics or in
parallel computing as applied to simulation of large biomolecular systems.

The position involves, depending on applicant background, further
development of TCBG's Visual Molecular Dynamics (VMD) program (see
www.ks.uiuc.edu/Research/vmd <www.ks.uiuc.edu:Research:vmd>) or
contributing to the development of TCBG's Nanoscale Molecular Dynamics
(NAMD) program (see www.ks.uiuc.edu/Research/namd
<www.ks.uiuc.edu:Research:namd>), or participating in the development
and application of multi-scale quantum and molecular dynamics related
methods to study biologically relevant problems.

_Requirements_:A doctoral degree in the biological or physical sciences
or in computer science, and three years of experience in programming in
C/C++ on a Unix platform are.

_Preferences_: Experience with Tcl/Tk, POSIX Threads, OpenMP, MPI, CUDA,
scientific visualization, OpenGL, Python are preferred qualities in
those seeking to work with VMD; a background in scientific computing,
high-performance parallel computing, and performance optimization are
preferred qualities of those applying for a NAMD-related position.
Experience with molecular modeling and simulation is desirable.

The postdoctoral position is a 100% full-time, benefits-eligible
