********* New Late-Fall `96 Dance Course *********

If you really want to improve your dancing, read on....

Preparing for and participating in competitions is one of the best ways
to become a better dancer. There are several intercollegiate dance
competitions coming up in the spring. Each of these competitions
features a "team match" segment that we'd like to participate in.

If you've never seen a team match, it's a dance contest between college
teams of 8 dancers. Each person dances one dance with his or her
partner and is given a score by the judges. The scores are totaled,
and the team with the highest score wins.

(Don't worry - couples are not out on the floor alone; if 10 colleges
attend the comp, there will be 10 couples out on the floor together.... In
fact, it can be hard to hear the music with everyone on the sidelines
screaming for their team at the top of their lungs!)

To prepare teams of dancers for this exciting experience. The DI is
offering a course which will emphasize technique and competitive
styling for the competitive dancer.
