The Dancing Illini presents

Swing & Hustle Workshops!
10am - 10pm, Sunday, November 10th,
in the Illini Union Ballroom

The Dancing Illini would like to invite you to a dance experience you'll
never forget! Join professional dancer-instructor Beth Emerson, known
throughout the U.S. for her fun, high-energy workshops, as she teaches a
fun-filled day of Advanced West Coast Swing, and intermediate level Hustle
& East Coast Swing! Cost is just $3 per workshop, with a special deal
available for the afternoon workshops: both for only $5. Here's the
schedule of events:

Sunday, November 10th:

Put on your DI T-shirt and head to the Illini Union Ballroom, on the
second floor of the Illini Union, 1401 West Green Street, Urbana.

10:00 - 11:30 am Swing club style West Coast Swing, Advanced figures
and technique. You *must* have completed an
intermediate level West Coast Swing course to take
this workshop.

11:30 - 12:00 pm We'll play Swing music so you can practice what
you just learned.

12:00 - 1:00 pm Lunch Break (participants are responsible for their
own food costs). Belongings can be stored in the
Ballroom during the lunch break.

1:00 - 2:30 pm Hot Hustle! Great figures and techniques to improve
your dancing! You *must* have completed a beginner
level Hustle class to take this workshop.

2:30 - 3:00 pm We'll play Hustle music so you can practice what
you just learned.

3:00 - 4:30 pm Fun 'n Flashy East Coast Swing, figures and technique.
You *must* have completed a beginner level Swing class
to take this workshop.

4:30 - 5:00 pm We'll play Swing music so you can practice what
you just learned.

5:00 - 7:00 pm Dinner break (participants are responsible for
their own food costs).

7:00 - 10:00 pm FREE dance party with a mix of music for Swing,
Hustle, Latin and Ballroom dancing.

About our instructor:

Beth Emerson is a very popular workshop instructor! Mainly because
of her friendly, energetic style and her ability to clarify the concepts
of lead and follow, and connection and partnership in an easy-going,
relaxed atmosphere.
Beth has an extensive background in gymnastics and martial arts, as
well as all styles of dance. With partner Dan Eshner, Beth was one of
the top competitive dancers in the United States and Canada, winning eight
Division I Grand Championships and two Masters Titles. She is now teaching
group classes and coaching top competitive couples on the international
circuit. Beth is also one of the Event Directors of the Gateway Classic
Dance Festival in St. Louis, Missouri.
