(*) FOREVER TANGO in Chicago until September 8

News flash for Argentine Tango lovers: "FOREVER TANGO" (a fantastic Tango
stage show) has returned to Chicago for the *entire* summer, and is playing
at the Royal George Theatre, 1641 N. Halsted. Tickets are $40 except on
Tuesday nights, when they are only $25.

Due to popular demand, the production of "Forever Tango" at the Royal
George Theatre, 1641 N. Halsted, Chicago, has now been extended to SUNDAY,
SEPTEMBER 8. In addition, there will be a Sunday matinee on August 4
(3:00), and three *late* afternoon performances on Saturday, Aug. 24 and
31, and Sept. 7, at 5:00 PM. We saw it last week, and it is every bit as
outstanding as the San Francisco production--using mainly the same
orchestra, and with a few different dancers, but still absolutely the
finest exhibition of Argentine Tango dancing there is to be seen! Enjoy!!

(o) Heartland Ballroom Dancers (Indianapolis USABDA) Comp, Sept. 28-29

Mark your calendars for Sept. 28-29, 1996 for the next ballroom dance
competition at Indianapolis, sponsored by the Heartland Ballroom Dancers
(Indianapolis USABDA) at the Indiana Convention Center.
A group of us went in March and had a super time at this event! I highly
recommend entering the team competition event: it really builds spirit &
camaraderie.
There will be competition opportunities for youth, collegiate, and adult, as
well as lots of general dancing for the social dancer. What a great way to
celebrate National Ballroom Dance Week!
If you need more info, write or call Bill Woodward, 712 Lockefield Ct., #D,
Indianapolis, IN 46202 (317/634-3986) or email Bob Blankenship
(blankbob@indy.net)

Attention college students,
We in Indianapolis still have a few spots for free lodging (Fri & Sat.) for
two nights for college students for the Regional Championship on Sept. 28 -
29, 1996 (Sat. & Sun.). Call Cam Thompson at (317) 637-2215 or e-mail her at
camthom@indy.net.

Plan on bringing at least two four-couple teams; this is an opportunity to
put your college on the map and to make a big spash.

If you need an excuse to start practicing all those cool
moves you learned last semester, here it is! Regional Championships
promises to be one of the best competitions in the midwest this year.
In addition to all of the adult amateur events, there will be four
levels for college students to participate in. These include:
Beginner (Under 1 1/2 years of dance experience)
Advanced (Under 3 years of dance experience)
Open (Over 3 years of dance experience)
Championship (5 dance event)

Note: The Beg., Adv., & Open events are all one dance competitions. This
means you may participate in only one or two dances if that's all you know.

HURRY! HURRY! HURRY! HURRY! HURRY! HURRY! HURRY! HURRY!

Entry forms must be in by: Sept. 14th

There's good ballroom dancing around C-U. Here's where to find it:
(Taken from http://www.physics.uiuc.edu/projects/dance/misc/cu-dance.html)

Friday nights, 8:00-11:00pm. (and a Salsa dance every other Friday from
11:30pm - 2:00am)

The Regent Ballroom is located at 1406 Regency Drive W., Savoy.
>From Champaign, take S. Neil St., which becomes U.S. 45, to Burwash Ave.
(The northwest corner of U.S. 45 and Burwash has a car dealership, Twin
City Honda; the southwest corner has a gas station.) Turn west onto
Burwash, immediately north of the Savoy 14 cinemas, then drive several
blocks to turn south onto Regency Drive West. The Regent is less than a
block south, on the east side of Regency Drive West. Free parking.

The Lafayette Club, 107 E. Lafayette, Bloomington. Enormous dance floor,
