(o) DI Practice sessions at the Regent, Wednesdays in June, 9:30 - 11pm

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
(*) Free Salsa/Merengue lessons at La Casa Cultural Latina

Mauricio and Courtney teach Salsa, and Eliana generally teaches
Merengue at La Casa Cultural Latina (1203 W. Nevada, U) on Thursdays and
Sundays. The classes start at 7pm. The whole thing is loosely associated
with the Ritmo y Sabor group that Liliana and Eliana started for the April
performance at the Levis center...). The classes are free and really laid
back - alot of folks come and kind of hang out, while others are there to
learn. They generally go until 8:30 or so. These classes are a good place
to come and learn the basics - the rhythm, the steps, the music. It's not
a class in which people learn alot of difficult stuff, but since Mauricio
and Courtney sort of tag-team teach it, we can give more specialzed
attention to people who either need more help on the beginning stuff or who
want to learn more complicated things. It's a real friendly, laid-back
environment. Check it out!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
(*) Azucarrr Salsa/Merengue lessons at Springer Recreation Center - June 5

Beginning Level Salsa and Merengue Class- $30.00/7 sessions

to identify the beat, and the basic principles of leading and following.
The only prerequsites for this class are the ability to distinquish
between right and left and the ability to count to four.

Intermediate Level Salsa and Merenque Class- $30.00/ 7 sessions
The intermediate level class is and extension from the Beginning
level Salsa class. It is designed for those who have either taken the
Beginnig level class or who already have an equivalent base knowledge.
In class you will learn more advanced steps and turns, different leads
and foot-work, and how to dance slow salsa. This class is for those who
have been out, tried what they know, and want to refine their skills and
learn more. The only prerequisites for this class are a knowledge of the
basic dance moves for Salsa and Merengue and almost more importantly to
recognize and cancto the beat.

The classes this summer will be offered through the Champaign Park
District. The room we will be using will be AIR-CONDITIONED!!!
As always the first class is free.
