Dance Events This Coming Week

Hi everyone,

We've got a number of Swing (and other) dance videos which have not
been borrowed this week. I encourage you to take advantage of them - there
are only a few weeks left before Enio Cordoba comes to town to teach our
Swing and Salsa workshops, and the more you know going in, the more you'll
learn in the workshops. Contact Mark (m-balzer@uiuc.edu) about borrowing
the videos.

Here in town, Kathryn Schaffer, former North American and U.S.
Professional Ballroom Champion, will teach workshops at the Regent: Silver
American Rumba at 1:00pm, and Cuban style Salsa (Mambo) at 2:15pm.

In Chicago, one of the best Swing dancers in the world, Romiro
Gonzalez, is going to be teaching workshops in Chicago this week/ weekend.
Call 312/549-1528 for details.

Students from UIUC, Washington U in St Louis, and SIU in Carbondale
will be attending the 13th Annual St. Louis Swing Invitational in
Collinsville, IL, next Saturday, June 15. Contact Mark
(m-balzer@uiuc.edu) for details on how you can join us for workshops,
dancing and competition watching!

Finally, please let your friends know about all the wonderful
Dancing Illini classes starting up next week! I've included a list of them
below. Printed flyers and calendars are available at all practices and
classes. We look forward to seeing you on the dance floor this summer!
