Hi all,
This is a reminder that we are having an officer election meeting this
Thursday, the 20th, at 8:15 pm (between the Swing & Waltz and Salsa
classes). If you are interested in an officer postion with the Dancing
Illini next year, please let us know. (Remember that one of the perks
of being an officer is getting free classes.) I'll list the positions
and a brief description below. If you're interested in more
information about any number of positions, please let me know. A
number of these positions are able to be filled by more than one person
if that becomes an issue.
Finally, if you can't make the meeting Thursday, but you are interested
(or think you might be), please email me or dancing+officers@uiuc.edu
and let us know what positions you may be interested in.
The officer positions are:
President - plan meetings, run meetings, keep on top of upcoming events
Vice President - fill in for the president when he's unavailable
Treasurer - keep track of our funds
Secretary - take and post meeting minutes, make weekly sign-up sheets
and email list
Competition Co-Chair - Help organize our Dancing Competition in October
Social Chair - plan social events (dances, dinners, etc.)
Education Chair - plan the courses to be taught each semester
Teaching Chair - find teachers for courses
Public Relations Chair - organize PR events (Quad Day, demos, etc.)
Workshop Chair - Organize dance workshops
