*** Dancing Illini Dance Courses, Spring 1999 ***
Beginner Courses:
Eight-week beginner courses start Sunday, January 31 in 310 Freer Hall.
* West Coast Swing, N/C 2-Step, Hustle Sunday 5:15 to 6:45 pm
* Swing, Hustle, Foxtrot Monday 6:10 to 7:40 pm
* DanceSport Tango, Swing, Cha-Cha Monday 9:15 to 10:45 pm
* DanceSport Rumba, Waltz, Swing Wednesday 6:15 to 7:45 pm
* Salsa, Cha-Cha, Waltz Friday 5:00 to 6:20 pm

*** Try it out free! Join anytime before Friday, Feb 12. ***
No experience or partner is required. There is no dress code.
"DanceSport" courses emphasize details, proper form, and style.
Cost is $25 for an eight-week course for students/faculty/staff
and $30 for others. Additional beginner courses taken at the
same time are only $10. Class size may be limited.
Intermediate Courses:
* DanceSport Tango and Samba Monday 7:50 to 9:00 pm
Held in 310 Freer Hall. Must pass bronze medal test
to be administered during the second week of class.
* Level 2 DanceSport Waltz and Cha-Cha Tuesday 5:30 to 7:00 pm
Held on 2nd floor of University YMCA. Must pass silver medal
test to be administered during the second week of class.
* Socal Quickstep and Swing Thursday 9:30 to 10:50 pm
Held at the Regent Ballroom. Some dance experience required.
Intermediate courses start February 1. Cost is $25 plus dues/fees.
Dues/fees are $5 for students/faculty/staff and $10 for others and
are paid only once per term. Directions to the Regent are on the web

coordinator Riki Garvin <egarvin@uiuc.edu> can arrange rides.
Reviews will be held for medal tests during the first week of class.
Admission may be restricted to preserve gender balance.
Practices:
Practices start January 25 at the Regent Ballroom.
* General Practice Wednesday 9:30 to 10:50 pm
Everyone welcome, no partner required, free quickie lessons.
* DanceSport Practice Monday 9:30 to 10:50 pm
Serious preparation for competitions. Partner recommended.
